When choosing toys for your pets, in general, one of the most important factors to consider is…how safe is the toy? Pets that are inquisitive and love to explore are another reason why you need to be careful with the type of toys you buy. Take, for instance, gerbils, they love to push their heads into spaces where they feel they can explore.

As such, these toys should not be ones where their heads may get stuck, or they could hurt themselves otherwise. Also, these toys shouldn’t have any sharp edges or shouldn’t be ones that they can swallow. Those who own gerbils know how active they can get, especially with chewing. So, once you notice they start chewing on certain toys, especially plastic ones, it is time to remove them.
